Board Committee Structure
Governance Committee: Oversees and assists the Board in continuously improving its governance structure.
Executive Committee: Exercises the powers of the Board between Board meetings in urgent matters, and oversees CEO- and Chief of Staff-related employment and evaluation matters.
Quality and Utilization Committee: Reviews the quality of patient care and service delivery, and oversees the hospital’s quality and risk management, utilization management and occupational health and safety programs.
Resources and Audit Committee: Oversees matters related to fiscal, human and capital resources and external financial reporting, oversees capital projects and advises on accounting, internal control and auditing procedures.
Advisory Committees
Community Advisory Committee: A forum for community partners to learn and provide advice and feedback about our unique rehabilitation services.
Fiscal Advisory Committee: Established in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act, the committee includes representatives from hospital management, union and non-union staff, and medical staff. The committee reviews the annual budget submission to the Board, the quarterly financial statements, and provides advice regarding cost savings and revenue generation.
Medical Advisory Committee: Established in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act, the committee reports to the Board on its supervision of the practice of medicine in the hospital in relation to professionally recognized standards. The committee advises and reports to the Board on medical quality, education, professional, clinical, technical, teaching and research services. The committee also oversees the credentialing and appointment of medical staff and establishes committees to oversee clinical work at the hospital.
