Community engagement plan
The hospital's Community Advisory Committee is a forum for community partners and representatives to learn about, and provide advice and feedback about our unique rehabilitation services. The committee meets quarterly and includes representatives of the Board of Directors, hospital staff, referring acute care hospitals, disease-related associations such as the Arthritis Society and the Heart & Stroke Foundation, government agencies such as the Trillium Gift of Life Network, our local community, former patients, and the St. John's Rehab Volunteer Association. After each meeting, the committee provides a report directly to the Board of Directors.
For information about the topics planned for this year's Community Advisory Committee meetings, please see the Community Advisory Committee Work Plan (PDF), which is the hospital's community engagement plan for 2011-2012.
When other issues arise that require broader consultation, the hospital creates more opportunities to discuss the issues with our patients, partners, staff and community. These opportunities are advertised to the community on the hospital's website at www.stjohnsrehab.com in the News & Events section, and shared with the local media, including North York and/or Toronto newspapers.
Community members are always welcome to share concerns, feedback and questions by e-mail to info@stjohnsrehab.com. We aim to respond within four business days. If you have a concern, compliment, or complaint about a specific patient care issue or experience at the hospital, please e-mail PatientRelations@stjohnsrehab.com.
