Accomodation
For Ontario patients, defined inpatient rehabilitation services are funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Provincial health insurance covers standard ward accommodation (four patients per room).
Admission staff work hard to assist you in your requests for semi-private or private accommodation. Certain extended health insurance plans cover some or all of the costs of preferred accommodation in rehabilitation hospitals.
If you choose to have preferred accommodation such as a semi-private or private room, you must complete a preferred accommodation request form prior to your admission to the hospital. If your requested accommodation is not available, you will be billed according to the preferred accommodation provided.
Please check with your private insurance company prior to admission to the hospital to ensure you are aware of your rehabilitation hospital coverage. If your insurance does not cover the total amount, then you are responsible for the difference. The patient accounts office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and can be reached at 416-226-6780 ext. 7045.
