Chiropody Clinic

ChiropodyAs a regulated primary health care profession, chiropody involves treatment and prevention of diseases, disorders or dysfunctions of the foot by therapeutic, orthotic or palliative means. Chiropodists are trained exclusively to assess and treat foot problems. They are often called upon by physicians and other health care professionals for consultation and treatment of these common foot problems:

As you walk, the nails, joints, muscles, bones, and skin of your feet may suffer form wear and tear. The skin and toenails may become thickened, infected or sore. The joints, muscles and bones may become painful. If untreated, these problems can worsen.

Diabetic foot care

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, chiropody can offer an important element of care. The long-term effects of diabetes – such as impaired sensation, impaired vision and decreased circulation – place patients at a higher risk for serious foot infections and potential limb loss. Our chiropodist provides individual assessment to establish the circulatory and neurological status of your feet, as well as personalized advice about caring for your feet. Understanding the necessary precautions for diabetic foot care today can be the key to warding off serious foot problems in the future.
