is offered by Step Ahead Rehab?
A fee-for-service program designed to meet the needs of individuals who
require effective, timely treatment. Clients of this program will benefit
by receiving care from a team of rehabilitation professionals with advanced
knowledge and training in innovative and complex rehabilitation practices.
What does Step Ahead Rehab Clinic treat?
- Motor vehicle collision injuries.
- Work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Muscle, bone and joint injuries as well as conditions, such as whiplash, low back pain, repetitive strain and sport-related injuries.
Additional
services offered:
Exercise consultation or education specific to conditions such as Osteoarthritis,
Rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes and Osteoporosis.
Patients may also obtain professional guidance and recommendations prior to commencing an exercise regimen to maintain or improve their level of function and/or capacity to work or engage in leisure activities.
All treatments and consultations are personalized and provided one-on-one with a registered physiotherapist.
What is Step Ahead Rehab Clinic's philosophy?
St. John's Rehab Hospital believes in treating the whole person by addressing not only the individual’s physical condition, but also their emotional, psychological and spiritual needs.
Referrals can be made to other professionals including social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists and dietitians. Depending on the clinical needs of the client, complementary therapy may be recommended and is also available on-site.

OHIP does not cover the cost of treatment. Our services may be covered by:
- Extended Health Insurance
- Auto Insurance
- Workplace Safety and Insurance Board

How can someone access the services offered by the clinic?
- Directly in-person or by phone to arrange an initial appointment.
- Through a referral by a physician or other health care provider.
Our clinic welcome desk is located in the Beatty Wing on the west side of the hospital, on 25 beautifully landscaped acres with ample parking.
A reduced parking fee is offered for our Step Ahead Rehab Clinic clients.
Step Ahead Rehab Clinic at St. John’s Rehab Hospital understands the importance of continuing education, research and partnerships with other health and wellness providers to ensure that all our patients have timely access to high quality health and community services. Partnerships include:
